Instructions for Ordering for Senior Design Projects

University pricing from the major scientific supply houses like VWR and Fisher Scientific (which is lower than for the general public).
Some companies will fill a CruzBuy order, but not fill private orders for example, ATCC or Addgene.
Delivery of the materials is into your hands through the teaching lab.
Convenient payment, billing is made to your personal student account(s).

The CruzBuy ordering system has several cautionary notes for students ordering supplies for their senior design projects.

Not all companies are in the CruzBuy system. Those companies not in CruzBuy will take significant time and effort to be put into the system. For these companies, likely it is faster to order the item directly yourself.
The ordering process takes time. Time is needed for approvals from you for charges to your personal student account and there are multiple levels of approval within Baskin School of Engineering. Under normal conditions 5 days should be added to the time needed for a company to ship after receiving an order.
Be aware that some items like pathogenic organisms can have addition requirements. For example government permits can take upwards of 90 days for approval of the permit for a pathogenic organism, and in some cases you may not be able to order the item at all.

You can chose from the list of companies available by typing part of their name in the form and selecting from the list that appears. If an item you are ordering is not supplied by one of these companies, then you can try and order the item yourself. If that is not possible then we can regroup and see about getting the company included in CruzBuy.
Fill in the form for the item(s) and submit the form to generate a ticket. The ticket will be processed and the item ordered.
All communication regarding your order can occur through the ticket system.
